Instigator of the Latin House movement with his hit “Morenita”, HUGEL is a multi–gold and platinum-selling artist with over 1 billion streams to his name. With many of his tracks reaching the number 1 spot on Beatport, his music is played in top venues and at the most credible events around the world.
He grew up in Marseille, by the Mediterranean Sea. His mother raised him on funk, disco, and soul. At the age of 16, he discovered the art of DJing with vinyl, influenced by the styles of Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, Amine Edge, and David Guetta. After a few years of learning production, he became a hit-maker. His house music is inspired by Ibiza and the Latin culture he absorbed during his time living on the island.
In 2023, he founded his own record label, Make The Girls Dance, specializing in Afro-Latin House. Just one year later, the label became one of the Top 3 bestselling Afro House labels on Beatport. His success continues into 2024 with the release of “I Adore You”, a collaboration with Topic and Arash, featuring vocals from Daecolm.
