Drugs From Amsterdam originator and city native Mau P has made a major impact on the house music scene in a remarkably short space of time. Raised in a household full of talented musicians, taking on multiple instruments from a very young age, he found an unconditional love for dance music at the age of 14. He now effortlessly channels his musical skillset, raw talent and boundless creativity into both his productions and DJ sets.

He set an incredibly high bar with his thumping debut single, the aforementioned Drugs From Amsterdam, which rocketed from the underground to become a huge global hit with millions of plays racked up since its release. Combining a thumping tech house vibe with an infectious vocal hook and even sounds sampled from the Amsterdam Metro, the track cracked the charts on Shazam, Spotify, Billboard and topped Beatport’s prestigious Top 10 for over a month.

In the midst of Drugs From Amsterdam’s monstrous success, Mau P’s first North America tour kicked off, selling out venues across the continent, from Miami and NYC to Las Vegas and LA. In January 2023 Mau P added the eagerly awaited Gimme That Bounce to his musical arsenal, which was followed up by an official Calvin Harris remix in April and Your Mind Is Dirty in May. The latter quickly took over EDC Las Vegas to become the unofficial anthem after Mau P’s headline-grabbing performance at the festival.

To add to an already impressive repertoire, Mau P released what might be his most anticipated song yet, Metro, in collaboration with Kevin de Vries on Afterlife in July of 2023. Metro garnered extraordinary virality due to an unexpected meteor shower happening while it was being played at Afterlife during Miami Music Week. The release of Metro on an esteemed label like Afterlife further cements Mau P in the upper echelons of the current house music scene. Shortly after Metro made its way to the masses, Mau P released an official remix for Armand van Helden’s iconic I Want Your Soul, becoming one of the few artists to have ever been given the honor. To further establish Mau P as one of the industry’s most promising figureheads, he was asked to remix the Swedish House Mafia’s Ray Of Solar, delivering an ethereal edit fit for the masses.

With barely a year under his belt, Mau P has quickly demonstrated his versatility through unmatched DJ sets and his widely varied discography. Without a doubt, Mau P is an artist worth keeping your eye on.
